deister fox
Hello, I am currently trying to create a two-column leader in a manuscript with a four-column break and generate a text style for it. So far, however, I have only managed to run the opening part or lead-in in one column. Do I have to create a separate box for a preamble that is to extend over two columns? Staff Dan C Posted August 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 29, 2019 Hi deister fox My apologies, I'm not certain what you mean by this. Unfortunately Text Styles cannot contain column information - could you possibly provide a diagram or further explanation showing the layout you're looking to achieve? Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! Joachim_L
I guess he/she/it wants to span a headline over more than one column which is not possible at the moment. But there is one ugly hack to achieve something like that, but needs extra work at other places in the text frame -> Mark the headline as No break as a style or in the Character panel. A proper function would be better of course. deister fox
Yes, thank you, Joachim_L was right on target, it's not about a headline, but about a bold lead text. If it cannot be formatted in a box at the moment, several elements have to complement each other. Thanks for your hints. deister fox
One more question. Is there also a so-called monkey handle– a keyboard shortcut – in the Publisher to mark and delete all the remaining text in a box from the cursor?
