Pensketch
Mac OS 10.14, Affinity Designer 1.7.2, Mac App Store version. This is tough to explain, and is only repeatable in that it keeps happening. I'm working in files that have a large number of groups and sub-groups. Randomly when I am working in a group, other groups below the one I'm working in will disappear from the Layers panel; blank spaces are in their place. I'll ry to get a screenshot of it the next time it happens. It's usually possible to fix if I resize the Layers panel, and doesn't seem to be causing any bigger problems. It's just disconcerting. Staff Sean P Posted August 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 29, 2019 Hi Pensketch, I'm not aware of any issues like you've reported. Unfortunately we'd need to see a video of the issue or a file with reproducible steps to be able to investigate. If you can get a screen recording that shows the issue that will help us a lot. Hangman
Hi Sean, This is a problem I've experienced on a particular file as well in all versions of AD. My file sounds similar in that it has a number of grouped layers, each with around twelve pixel layers in addition to an adjustment layer. I think it is simply a screen redraw issue related to the volume of pixel layers in the file, although the file itself is only around 178mb, so not that big. When I click the expand arrow for a group to make a layer selection change and then collapse the group again, 'sometimes' complete layers are no longer showing in the layers panel. This is easily rectified by either collapsing the layers at the 'root' level and expanding the layers again or sometimes just by clicking on the missing layers themselves. layers.mp4 Pensketch 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.4.1.2344 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1.2344 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1.2344 Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 MacBook Pro 16GB, macOS Monterey 12.6.8, Magic Mouse
Staff Sean P Posted August 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 30, 2019 Thanks for the video - that is indeed very helpful. I've reproduced that here and will get it passed on to development. Pensketch
Pensketch
@Hangman Yes, thank you! I had no idea how to consistently get it to happen or take a video of it. I really appreciate it.
