Merlin
When I copy information between identically sized artboards I expect the information to be identically located. Sometimes that doesn't happen for me, and I think I've found out why. For some reason, you have to be viewing the 'copy to' artboard when copying. If you aren't it will copy to the view screen and not the artboard. This feature doesn't seem to make sense unless I am missing something? Staff Sean P Posted August 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 29, 2019 Hi Merlin, I believe this is intentional to stop users thinking objects haven't pasted, if the area they're pasting onto isn't visible.
Merlin
I was using the layer function for guidance and not the screen because I wanted to maintain the same layer structure and grouping on every art board. Therefore, if what I experienced is intentional it messed me up. I got around it by copying the item and zooming out so all artboards were on screen, but took me a while to realize what was happening. Seems a strange default.
