Dean Mac
I am using Version 1.7.2.6 of Designer on my iPad. I am using an iPad Pro, 12.9", 3rd Generation, 256GB version. I am using an Apple Pencil, 2nd Generation, The only one you can use with the new iPad Pro. I have been using the software and pencil combination for some time without problems. Tonight while drawing, it stopped responding to drawing functions, such as drawing lines, selecting and moving objects. I restarted the iPad and quit and restarted Designer, I have also done the Factory reset from the Defaults Menu option. Every time is works to start with, but I have found that as soon as I select Grid from the menu, it stops working. However, the pencil will still work with all the Menu and Tool options, as in selecting them. I have also had issues with not being able to change the Grid settings. Anyone with this issue, or suggestions about what might be causing it.
Staff Callum Posted August 27, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 27, 2019 Hi Dean Mac, Welcome to the forums This isn't something I'm able to reproduce I'm afraid. Please could you provide a screen recording showing this issue and tell me if you are using the iOS13 beta? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. Dean Mac
I have attached a screen recording of my problem. Also, I am using iPad OS 12.4.1, which I just updated to the 26th, Monday. 5F410982-767B-4FA3-A837-556324FFB7BA.MP4
Dean Mac
I should add that I have been using Designer on my iPad almost from its launch date and have had no other issues. Thanks for the assistance. Dean.

Thanks for the assistance. Dean. This sounds like something to do with Touch for Gestures, check this setting under preferences, how is it set? Also have you tried forcing a restart on your iPad use the power+home continuously until you see Apple logo for older devices or volume up, volume down within 3 seconds then press power until the Apple logo appears on newer devices without a home button. This often cures strangeness with iPad’s. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ios Quote My dad always told me, a bad workman always blames their tools…. Dean Mac
I did the full reboot before posting my first message. The selection issue only seems to happen in Designer, not any other apps. As far as the TOUCH FOR GESTURES it was set to ON. Turning that off allows the finger touch to move objects, etc. I don’t remember changing the setting, but that still is only part of the issue. As shown in the screen capture, when turning on grids the selection problem still exists. Thanks for the help. Dean
