Uwe367
If i open an Image and place an other Image via Menu --> place on it and i make a double klick on the placed Image, nothing happens. In a german Facebook Group this issue was coming out and the people say that it was possible in earlier Versions to double klick it and then it opens in a seperate Window to edit it. Perhaps someone can confirm this? I never used this and so i don´t know if there was such function. BTW... If this is a Bug, it occurs on both Systems. Win and Mac. Quote Have a nice day. Joachim_L
Partly true. The double-click only works if the file is handled as a document like PSD, SVG etc. For all other file (image) formats there is the Replace Image button (Edit Image button in Publisher) in the context toolbar. One more clarification: Edit Image will be present in both Publisher and Photo (and Designer) but only when the image is linked. For embedded images (as you normally have in Photo/Designer, or optionally in Publisher) you get only the Replace Image button. Staff MEB Posted September 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2019 Hi Uwe367, This is by design. Double-clicking (on canvas) only works for embedded documents (complex files containing multiple objects like PDF, PSD, SVG files etc) - check the label between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers panel to identify the type of layers you are dealing with. Flatten images (PNG, JPG's etc) are placed as Image layers (not embedded documents) and cannot be opened in a new document tab for editing as embedded documents.
