Affinity Photo on desktop Windows10

Recommended Posts

Did you reboot your PC after you installed Affinity Designer? Do you get any error messages when you try to launch Affinity Photo?

Did you install Designer into the default location suggested by the installer, or did you change the location?

For example,

  • Designer, by default, should be in C:\Program Files\Affinity\Designer
  • Photo by default, should be in C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo

If you installed Designer into the same directory you installed Photo into, you would break Photo.

Yes sir, I have installed A Photo on 7th. and changed the directory to D: and it was working without any issue. Then on 17th. Aff Designer was installed in the same way by changing the directory D: Now I find A Designer is working but A Photo is not. Now what should I do.

As @walt.farrell suggested earlier, it would seem both apps are installed on the root of your D:\. This is why only the last one installed is working, they both need to be fully uninstalled from your system. Then run the setups again, if you wish to change the install directory/path just change the drive letter. It wants to look something like the below for each app, so each app is in its own directory.

D:\Programs Files\Affinity\Designer

D:\Programs Files\Affinity\Photo

Even something like

  D:\Affinity\Designer
  D:\Affinity\Photo

would probably work. Or possibly

  D:\Designer
  D:\Photo

But not simply D:\

During installation I had only marked the drive D:

That’s the problem. By specifying drive D: for Affinity Photo, you asked for the app to be installed in the root folder of that drive, and when you chose the same location for Affinity Designer you broke the Affinity Photo installation. You need to choose a separate folder for each of the two apps.
