Binnur
I downloaded the trial version of Affinity Photo last week and I'm still trying the software.I can see my images at only about 12-13% size on my laptop screen and I couldn't get used to it as I had more working space when I was a Photoshop user. While watching some tutorials I saw that it is possible to hide the top row of the menu which consists of file, edit, etc. Can anyone please explain how it is done? Also if there are any other ways to widen the working space , I would be happy to hear. Edited August 20, 2019 by Binnur
Staff Dan C Posted August 20, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 20, 2019 Hi Binnur 47 minutes ago, Binnur said: While watching some tutorials I saw that it is possible to hide the top row of the menu which consists of file, edit, etc. This is part of MacOS options and isn't Affinity specific - are you using Mac or Windows please? 48 minutes ago, Binnur said: Also if there are any other ways to widen the working space , I would be happy to hear There are a few ways, firstly pressing the TAB key is a shortcut to hide the workspace, showing you the Canvas and menus only (Canvas only is possible in Mac as aforementioned) Secondly, you can choose which of your toolbars etc are visible at any time, such as the following; View>Show Context Toolbar View>Show Toolbar View>Show Tools You can also choose which Studios (the panels on the left and right of the canvas) are visible, under View>Studio simply tick the options on/off that you wish to see. Thirdly, you can view your document/canvas as an entirely separate window. If you go to Window>Float then the document current visible will 'float' away from the application, meaning you can move and resize this window at will, and even fill your entire monitor (Or second monitor if you have one!) with the canvas only. I hope this helps Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Binnur
Hi Dan. As far as I understand from your answer, what I saw in the tutorial doesn't work for me as I use Windows. I will try the other ways you explained above though. Thank you very much for your help.
Staff Dan C Posted August 20, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 20, 2019 Unfortunately not on Windows, as the menu bar is built into the apps window - apologies. No problem at all, happy to help!
