Publisher icon on everything after install

Recommended Posts

I bought all three apps, and after installing them, I get the Publisher icon on both photoshop and illustrator files.

Annoyingly, all those files also opened with Publisher, but I was able to change that with cmd-i and then the "open with" option.

But the orange icons remain on the files. Any fix?

Hi eobet :)

Using CMD + i to open the Info panel, after changing the default program have you used the 'Change All...' button? If this doesn't help in updating the icon, please try right-clicking a file selecting Open With, then Other at the bottom of the list. Select your choice of default app for this file and then check Always Open With at the bottom of the dialogue, then Open. Now restart your Mac, open Finder and navigate to one of these files. Has the icon updated successfully?

Sorry to hear this, it sounds as though the icon cache needs resetting, please follow the instructions for this found here- https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8441124 :)
