nionio Posted August 15, 2019 Share Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) Hi been trying to use motion blur on my shots, however some shots may not need additional cleaning up around the edges after i apply motion blur but some like this shot is very hard to clean up, set up the radius and direction of the blur then brush/erase to make the subject sharper than the background. what am i doing wrong here and how to fix this. goal is to make the subject (car) sharp and the background blurry (motion). if you see the screenshot watch closely to the front and some on the back of the car after i brush erase Edited August 15, 2019 by nionio Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dazzler Posted August 16, 2019 Share Posted August 16, 2019 You may get better results by using the selection brush tool to select the car first, then you have all the advantages of the refine tools that can give a very clean edge. You can then place the car onto a new layer (CTRL+J with the selection active). Then you can fill the underlying layer using edit > inpaint. So now you have a car and a background layer without the car (the inpainting should give you something suitable that will allow the blur to look more realistic.
