Doc fonts not carried over to another user

Recommended Posts

In an AffPub doc that I created I used Goudy Old Syle throughout. When my colleague opens it on his computer (which has Goudy Old Style) the entire doc comes up with a different font (Ariel or Helvetica?). However, AffPub font does not show the replaced font name, nor is there any message in AffPub before it changes the doc font that I sent him but ?Goudy.  This is very disturbing and must have an explanation although I can find nothing on the forum. My AffPub doc should maintain the same font and formatting when opened by a different user on a different computer (both Macs).

It appears that AffPub does not give a warning when it does not find the font in the doc, but under DOCUMENT we have found a FONT MANAGER in which we can substitute the proper fonts. It may be a Mac problem of fonts storage. Will update when we find the problem, however, I believe AffPub should add a warning when opening a doc.

There is a warning when opening a document when the computer doesn't have the right fonts. It's a small popup in the upper right of the workspace, which disappears after a few seconds, and if one isn't looking for it it can disappear before one sees it.

But, did I understand you correctly, that both your computer and your colleague's computer have the font available? If so, it shouldn't be missing.

Perhaps you have similar fonts, but not ones with identical names?
