Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and I need your help. I decided to try out Affinity Designer on my Windows tablet and I was able to work on my Illustrator file just fine, but when saving my whole computer freezes. I managed to save once as an Affinity Designdr, but after that when trying to save again it froze and I had to force quit using CTRL+ALT+DEL. I have my file and the original .ai file attached below (excuse the silliness) if anybody wants to make sure this isn't an issue with the file itself. If it helps my current version is 1.7.1.

I really don't want to drop this program since it's so efficient, but I would like to use it knowing I won't lose hours of work (thankfully didn't get too far this time). Thanks in advance!!

Hi kitter,

Welcome to the forums :)

I've opened both your .afdesign file and your .ai file and I'm having no issues editing the file and saving changes. Could you please let me know what the specs of your Windows Tablet are please?

Please navigate to the below location from the Run Dialog. In this folder you will find Crash Reports generated by our apps. Please send us the .dmp file with the latest Created/Modified Date.

%APPDATA%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\CrashReports

Thanks in advance!
