Hello Karl

I agree with you. I am probably the oldest designer still actively using a publishing programme. I have always used Quark (never been tempted by In Design) and it has taken me all of my 10 day trial period to get to know Affinity Publisher.  Not at home with it yet but my main concerns are not being able to add 'Rules in text' and items like 'Open tick boxes' to flow with text.

Of course, I may have missed the controls!

InDesgn is out of the qustion being subscription based and Quark is now rather expensive for a long retired guy like me so, Affinty Publisher seems to be the way forward if It can do all the tasks which are simple with Quark.

All the best

Vernon

Just to be sure you know, if you decide to purchase Publisher, and do so directly from Serif (rather than from Microsoft or Apple) you will have an additional 14-day period in which you can return the program for a refund if you decide you don't want it after additional testing. I'm not sure whether Microsoft or Apple offer anything like that if you purchase from them.

For "Open tick boxes" to flow with the text: Unicode character U+25A1 WHITE SQUARE ( □  ) at some font size might do what you want.
