Hi All,

I am using AD 1.7.1 in a mac. When I place an image, by default AD links the image. So, when I move the image, AD prompts for relocating resources. I actually do not want that. I want the image to be embedded in the AD document, so that even if I move the placed image from my computer, the placed image remains intact in AD.

Can anyone please help.

Regards,

Anupam

In AfDesigner it appears to be an forgotten part of UI yet, in particular because AfPublisher offers this choice as a default document setting.
In AfDesigner it seems you still need to Replace the resource first to get access to the link option, hidden at the bottom of the finder/explorer window in the button "Options":

Someone else reported that on a MAC - but by default, AD should be embedding images

Do you also have Publisher installed on that device and have you ever opened that document in Publisher?

Due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now our Prime Minister, punctuation, spelling and grammar will never be worried about ever again.  We now have far bigger problems to be concerned about.

On my copy of Designer, embedded is the default, & I see no way to change that. One of the staff said some time back that the Replace Image "Options" button in Designer might be a bug (that it should appear only for .afpub files being edited in Designer or some such) but there was no follow up on that I can find.

Hi Anupam :)

As discussed on this thread, Designer should always default to embedding images, as there's nowhere to modify or manage any 'resources' in Designer.

Does this happen with any new document, or is it only apparent in one? Was this document started or used in Publisher at any point?

This is already logged with our development team as a bug, the option shouldn't be provided in any dialogue in Designer AFAIK - for the aforementioned reasons.
