AP is my primary image processing app, so it makes sense to save all my working files in its native format. Other formats are are merely for import/export. When I reopen it the recovery files doesn’t always recover my stuff and I’ve already lost two files I was working last night for my university project, I’m absolutely fuming. Ever since updating this new software it’s been happening this entire week and it’s soooo laggy the graphics are very poor please find a solution and fix this bug!!!! Does it happen when you work on the same(set) files Can you replicate it? Is it random? Where do you save those files? What MacOS version have you got? Are you using any embedded documents? Is the folder you save into syned with any cloud service? and try to answer those questions, as well as the standard ones. Thanks, Gabe. Is it random? Where do you save those files? What MacOS version have you got? Are you using any embedded documents? Is the folder you save into syned with any cloud service? Hi Gabe, I have been experiencing the same issue since updating to 1.7.2 Does it happen when you work on the same(set) files Any file. Mainly noticed with .aphoto files Can you replicate it? It is randomised Where do you save those files? On iCloud. However this has never been an issue before. File first saves on the SSD, then immediately uploads to the cloud. What MacOS version have you got? macOS Mojave 10.14.6 (18G95) Are you using any embedded documents? Yes, PNG with transparency or embedded aphoto files. Is the folder you save into syned with any cloud service? Yes iCloud.
Staff Gabe Posted September 24, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 24, 2019 Can you try something please and see if you can still replicate it? Try saving on a local-only location, that's not synced on iCloud, and use local-only resources.

stephenfuchs
I am still having this bug crop up constantly, even after upgrading to AP 1.7.3 and OS X Catalina. I've further narrowed it down to zooming in past 100% and using the erase tool.
Staff Gabe Posted October 16, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 16, 2019 Thanks. I will pass this on.
stephenfuchs
This is getting really really bad now. Pretty much every single time I use the eraser tool, Affinity Photo freezes on save. What is the progress on fixing this? Right now I am trying to change my files over to Pixelmator so I can be productive again. It's a shame since I converted so many photoshop users over to Affinity. Staff Gabe Posted November 1, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 1, 2019 @sfeditsfilm can you please attach the latest crash report so I can update the issue on our end?
Aves
I've also been having this debilitating issue, across both designer and photo so far. Did you notice any patterns? Just noticed that I could recreate the same issue saving mid-click (pen on wacom tablet) although the save bar stayed blank and does not light up. I could have been moving the cursor to produce this ongoing issue, but until my experiment as stated before the progress bar was green and froze when it was full. I've been working on files created in the ipad app, saved in native affinity files, and then shared to desktop via airdrop. I use the key board shortcut Does it happen when you work on the same(set) files across all files Can you replicate it? experimented further, It took a few tries but I could produce the issue saving while moving my mouse. It only took one try to produce the issue, saving while moving the cursor with my tablet pen Is it random? It was seemingly random before experimenting as said before. I'll be continuing on a project after submitting. I'll abstain from those actions and see if it happens further. Where do you save those files? at first the destination was synced with icloud, and switched to a non-synced folder but it made no difference and I could replicate the issue. What MacOS version have you got? 10.13.6 Are you using any embedded documents? no Is the folder you save into synced with any cloud service? at first, then switched to local non-synced Tablet: Wacom Cintiq 27QHD, Driver up to date (6.3.37-3), Using EK remote yes Edit: It'll still have that error without moving the cursor and saving although it took longer to occur.
