jmigues Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Where would I find preset text shapes. For example semicircle a heading? Quote
Gear maker Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I'm not sure if this is what you are after. In Designer you can take any shape, one you've drawn or something from the shape tool. Say a star, then convert it into a text path (Layer>Covert to text path) then add any text using the text tool. Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
Staff MEB Posted August 13, 2019 Staff Posted August 13, 2019 Hi jmigues, Welcome to Affinity Forums Affinity Designer doesn't have preset text shapes as Illustrator. If you want to keep the text as vectors you have to manually edit the nodes of the letters to achieve the the distortion you want. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
jmigues Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 Thanks for the response. I forgot to mention that I am working in publisher. Not lucky to have all 3. It is on my wish list. Will this also work in publisher? I get confused some times Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 13, 2019 Staff Posted August 13, 2019 It's the same for Publisher. You first have to convert the text to curves (menu Layer > Convert to Curves) then with the Node Tool edit/move the nodes to distort the letters as you see fit. Affinity Photo does have a Mesh Warp Tool that makes the process easier but it rasterises the text. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
