SheLaughs
Hello, I designed a birthday invitation for a client, and wanted to export the file as two 5x7 inch invitations on one page, so that she could easily have it printed that way and then be able to cut them properly. I was able to export them two per page as a spread, but then each invitation didn't have the crop marks; it was only on the outer edges of the spread. I kept messing around with it but couldn't figure out how to do this. I think there might've been other options in the print settings, however I wasn't going to be printing it myself. I was just exporting the PDF file and then sending it to my client. Thanks in advance! DeeDee
Staff Lee D Posted August 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 14, 2019 Does your document consist of two 5x7" pages or artboards, if so when you export to PDF (File > Export), make sure you select the More option and enable Include Printer Marks. After exporting, open the file in a PDF viewer, then in its print dialogue, set the pages per sheet to 2, see the attached screenshot. SheLaughs
Thanks for your reply! But the problem is that I don’t want to print it, I want to save the file that way and send it that way. Doing that in the pdf print options still wouldn’t allow me to save and send two per page, correct?
Staff Lee D Posted August 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 14, 2019 If the person you're sending the PDF file (containing two pages) is printing them, they just need to select the same/similar options on their print window.
Dazzler
You may be able to do this by printing to a pdf rather than exporting to a pdf. I can do it in a quick test using the 'Microsoft Print to PDF' printer choice (I'm on on Windows). On that print driver there is an option called Model where you can select N-Up. Then I can set the printer driver to do the 2 pages etc with crops marks etc and it prints to a pdf file. Took me a little bit of messing around to line it up properly with the print area etc.
