1) CorelDRAW 2017: Supports advanced OpenType font family grouping and Windows menu name style based grouping; does not allow faux styles. Shows font technology. Can filter preview lists “as you go” by user-selectable choices in many useful ways, inline slider for font preview size.

You forgot to mention another excelent CorelDRAW font option which is:

fonts that do not support the language you choose with selecting a keyboard -- are grayed out.

Just for those who as well struggle with the same problem as I do (Only one or two out of many fonts styles get displayed in the font list and even the ones shown change after each reboot). - Here's a workaround.

As recommended I deleted all font managers - no effect
I deleted the windows font cache and discovered that directly after deleting the font cache during this windows session Affinity products work as expected (I know it's never any Affinity product that has problems - so let's put it that way - idiot that I am i must have installed a cheap font of really bad quality that screwed up my system - but apparently this had no affect in the next session after deleting the windows font cache)

So to be able to half-way work with A Publisher I 'm now deleting the windows font cache each time with a script before shutting down my system so with next startup I have to accept that the font cache needs to be regenerated again but at least AP works with all fonts

I was experimenting with Microsoft's Candara typeface wich has 6 fonts (Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic, Light and Light Italic). I replaced the "problematic" Bulgarian/Russian glyphs with Macedonian (4 in total) and renamed the disk file to "55 Candara" and appropirate Font names inside the font. I did it with "Type Light 3.2". When I installed them, Publisher showed me two groups:

  • 55 Candara (4)
  • 55 Candara light (2)

instead of "55 Candara (6)". BTW, they work fine regardless they are divided into 2 groups. But, it would be better if they are displayed as original Candara.

That's due to naming issues is all. They could all be grouped under 55 Candara. You should ask Allan (the author) how to achieve what you want. I cannot remember whether the Light version can do it or not.

Thanks Mike, but I don't know Allan, neither how to contact him. I would appreciate any info about it.

Type light 3.2 does have the ability to edit all the required font name fields.
You may have added something which should be blank.
Or you may have overlooked something which should be changed and is conflicting with the originals.
Send them to me via PM if you would like me to take a look.
