PDF import work-around for missing fonts

Recommended Posts

AD cannot interpret fonts embedded in PDFs and asks for missing fonts during each import...

Ok, that's not great, but is there a work-around?
E. g. an App (other than Illustrator :) or Online-service that can convert typo to curves?

Well, on PDF export you can instruct AD to  have all fonts converted to curves.

Just click on More button at the bottom of the dialog and then select Embed Fonts pop-up menu and select Text as Curves.

Is this what are you looking for?

Hi Tomeric :)

Unfortunately there's no option like this in Affinity currently, when importing a PDF with missing fonts we will always attempt to replace them, rather than converting them to curves.

This has been requested on our forums previously and is an option we may add in the future. Unfortunately I don't personally know of any third party software that can achieve this, but other forum users may know more than I!

Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave.

If you require urgent assistance, please create a new thread and a member of our team will be sure to assist asap.

Many thanks :)

My only experience is with pdfToolbox and Acrobat, for the same reason (client-supplied PDFs).
