Studio8
Hey Just wondering how many people still save to 300dpi CMYK tifs nowadays for print or if anybody has experience with keeping images as RGB jpgs and letting Publisher (or Indesign) do the conversion when exporting to PDF. To save on file size/disk space. Look forward to peoples thoughts Cheers
Fixx
I rather keep images as TIFs. Our company people do RGB work flow nowadays, either as JPEGS or TIFs and use PDF export colours seps. I personally though convert to CMYK using LinkOptimizer, which is really help in high volume production. SrPx
Wosven
I usually use RVB and mostly JPG or TIF, it's faster, I don't mind the PPP since nowadays layout application can give effective PPP. Some of my coworkers 'd rather convert to CMYK and 300 PPP first. Depending of the needed adjustements, it can be easier to convert to CMYK... Some will only use RVB in their work flow since they need the illustrations for more than print publications.
R C-R
For what very little it is worth, I never export any of my Affinity projects to some other format just to save file space. Very high capacity USB 3 external convention connection <auto-correct at its finest> hard drives are relatively cheap, so I would much rather invest in them & offload old projects to them, just in case I need the native file format version in the future, & (as always!) as part of my redundant backup strategy.
