[Solved] Cmd-Drag / Opt-Drag :: does not copy

Recommended Posts

Different to retail v408 in beta v442 I experience that both Command-Drag and Option-Drag do not work any more to copy + move a selected object.
Instead it moves the selected item only and does not create a copy.

It occurs with Move Tool and e.g. line / shape / text / image frame.

EDIT: obviously it was a temporary issue only. It comes out to be "solved" for me after re-launching the app.

Works for me in .442, on Windows.

A question, though: what kind of object are you selecting and trying to copy? That may make a difference.

Move Tool + any item which generates a layer item, e.g.  line / shape / text / image frame.
What kind of objects do make what kind of difference to you?

p.s.:
How about cmd-drag / opt-drag in Layers Panel on Windows?
I would expect to work there the same way but it doesn't even in retail v408.
Or does it need / demand a feature request?

It is known (and by design), for example, that Pixel selections do not copy (at least in Photo), but merely move. Given the number of possible kinds of objects, I just wanted more info on what you're doing before trying to experiment with it.

I would not expect that to work, and have not tried it, but I think it would need a feature request.
