HELP from a PRO User Please.......[Now with Picture]

Recommended Posts

Howdy.  I'm very much beginner.  Using Affinity on PC to restore an old photo.

Was going fine, spent about 1.5hrs getting rid of specks etc.

THEN, suddenly I hit a button and the whole pic gets overlaid with squares, as per picture below  (original also below for comparison).  And I cannot turn it off.  I can still see the image underneath, just.  The overlay stays even when I hit save and close the file and then re-open it.  There must be some way to turn it off, but I've spent so much time fixing the photo before this happened that I cannot afford to lose it all.

Could someone please help.  Many thanks.

It looks like you've reduced the opacity of your image rather than overlaid it with something.  Select the image layer and see what the opacity slider is set to - it should be 100%.
