AiDon
Hi, Just opened some DNGs, this is an example, where there is a magenta color cast. AiDon
Strange, wonder if it could be caused by the GTX540M/1GB as it is end-of-life with 391.35 driver version. I tried WARP and it was no difference and on my other PC it is fine (GTX1050/4GB) I don't have issues with other SW but also, for those using Beta versions, I'm talking about Production here. walt.farrell
Since it's good on one of your PCs, it may well be an issue with the PC where it doesn't work. Are other images in Affinity Photo OK on that PC? If not, it may simply be an issue with the monitor ICC profile you have assigned on that PC. That is the confusing thing insofar as it is only DNGs from CR3 images on that GPU and Affinity, other DNGs are fine as is other RAW images and, on Capture One, there is no issue with those DNGs as you can see from this screenshot. I think it is a AP issue ... but where I have no idea. Also I haven't tried the Beta version coz in the middle of some work. Ron P.
If it was an AP issue then we would be seeing the same problem, and I don't see any color cast. FWIW, while downloading your DNG file, there was not color cast in the image looking at it in my browser. I'm thinking there's something specific to the pc. Is the monitor on the PC where your seeing this, calibrated, recently? They tend to shift over time. I try to calibrate mine at least once a month when I'm not doing much editing. Also I haven't been and haven't calibrated my monitors for a few months and still didn't show any color cast problem with that file. Does AP support the Canon M50's CR3 format? Is that why you convert to DNG? If not have you tried to load the CR3 file in AP? Quote Affinity Photo 2.4..; Affinity Designer 2.4..; Affinity Publisher 2.4..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Is the monitor on the PC where your seeing this, calibrated, recently? If you have read my posts is seems the issue was with AP & the specific GPU/Drivers ... The question about CR3 support, even though it isn't supported, is not relevant. FYI Capture One, ON1 Photo RAW, Topaz Labs (various such as Adjust AI, Studio, Sharpen, DeNoise etc., etc) open it fine as does CS6, LR6, Luminar, ACD See etc., etc. I have researched the issue and is not an issue with the monitor as it was calibrated and checked before making this post. Really, the post is a heads up to Affinity as the previous production and beta versions before 1.7.1.404 had no issue with these DNGs. AiDon
And, I forgot to mention, Designer is OK opening the image so I have narrowed it down to AP, if anyone has the same GPU/Driver I would be interested to know if they are alos having problem ... AiDon
After I upgraded to v1.7.2.471 I get this message: Now, why would it be converting a profile as a RAW image has no profile so it shouldn't read the profile as part of the RAW conversion. Note that I can always change the working profile to sRGB but why should I not be able to use a larger profile for processing RAW images? Note that my working profile has always been set to ProPhotoRGB but when I change to sRGB a RAW file opens correctly???
