Flipping object with transformation origin and angle

Recommended Posts

How do I flip a object if the original object is oblique and has moved transformation origin?
(P.S. the object on attached picture is horizontally symmetric but I would use asymmetric one.)

Maybe like so:

1. double

2. flip horizontally+vertically

3. draw a helper line along an edge - extend with shift

4. use Point Transform Tool to align

Thanks. but I suppose this method won't work with asymmetric objects in many case.

Why not? Flipping along 2 axis will mirror. Question is how you determine the mirror axis point - regardless the shape.

Ultimately I would like to find out efficient way to flip objects for someone.

This guy is a popular Origami crafter and trying out Affinity.
And he does flipping objects a lot, he's pointing out Affinity is not good at flipping objects.
He has been a Freehand user for more than 20 years and is still using it.
