William Allen Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 I have long wanted to ditch Potoshop because I hate the monthly rent system. Affinity Photo allows me to do the editing I want, although poor support for plugins after the update to v1.7 has beena frustration. However there is a problem that may be a deal breaker. I can not get accurate colour whne I print form Affinity Photo to my Canon Pixma Pro 100s printer. Even using proper ICC profiles for the paper and ink produces a red colour cast, with what should be orange looking red etc. This is very very frustrating. I have downloaded trial versions of DXO Photolab 2 and a couple of other programmes and they print the colours properly. Therefore the problem is Affinity Photo, not the printer or its driver. Am I the only one with this issue? If not is there a fix? Quote
Dan C Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Hi William Allen Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Could you please confirm the following: What colour profile are you using in your .afphoto document? What are your colour settings in Preferences>Colour? Do you have a custom colour profile set against your monitor or through your OS settings? Are you using a softproofing adjustment layer? Affinity apps (unlike others) convert colours from document colour profile to screen colour profile, meaning if you have a different profile set against your monitor than you have set in Affinity, the app will account for this.
