How do I add the twist and turns perfectly and all the features in the ice cream

The “twists and turns” are just strokes, either applied directly to a shape or drawn on top with the Pen Tool. If you use that tool in its default ‘Pen’ mode, each tap will create a sharp node and you’ll get a series of straight line segments. If you drag instead of tapping, you’ll get a smooth node with control handles, and the line between the new node and the previous one will be curved; tap on the ‘Edit’ icon at the left-hand end of the Context toolbar to switch temporarily to the Node Tool so that you can drag on either the control handles or the curve itself to adjust the path.

Can I just trace any image so I don’t have to worry about convert to curves as much?

Of course you can, Josie! I don’t think converting to curves is anything to “worry about”, and I like the fact that I’m starting with a closed shape, but if you find it easier to trace the image then by all means do it that way.

Now that’s out of the way how do I add all the extra features in the ice cream like this?

If you mean the hearts, stars, sprinkles and highlights, all of them can be done with the Shape Tools.

How do I trace parts of an image and put it with different images such as a cat?

or if I want part of the real cat image how would I do that?

i want to attach different parts of real images together and colored ones..

i know there is a way to do it but I haven’t figured it out.

I agree with what Alfred states above but I would suggest you stick to creating one cat drawing at a time before moving onto the next one. Other users have given you great advice on how to recreate the images you've attached to your posts but only practice will make your drawings better and will allow you to get more familiar with the app and its features.

Do you have a deadline to meet? If not, why the rush? Just concentrate on one drawing until it's Purr-fect ;)

I tried the disco cat and when I added the arms like they are I got stuck. Using a real cat image like the one below, and a different cat image I don’t know how to do that and put in a real image with it and only the cat without the background.

thats the one I want to focus on right now, so help me out thanks so much.

How do I attach arms to this out of a photo or trace them and use the real part of the image?

It was hidden in this post but missed arms to hail us!

Josie, you need to search "cat pawns" images and use the pixel persona to select them and copy them.

I hope someone will show you how to do it on iPad, I only have Designer for desktop.

A good start Josie.  The mask in the second file (rainbowpoopcat) does not require the mask layer. You have not actually masked anything. Keep practicing. Let your imagination run wild. :)
