Staff Callum Posted August 5, 2019 Staff Posted August 5, 2019 Hi Josie, the techniques you learned when creating your cat in a donut image can be used to create this. Thanks C Alfred 1 Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
Josie Posted August 5, 2019 Author Posted August 5, 2019 How do I put a cat inside a coffee mug like this I can’t seem to find a video on it for affinity designer
walt.farrell Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 You won't find a video specifically on that, Josie. But as Callum mentioned, you would use the same techniques you learned in your other topics, in particular this one: -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Josie Posted August 5, 2019 Author Posted August 5, 2019 Is there a way to put a cat inside a coffee mug on the iPad the easy way without me having to struggle so much and be looking for hours on end?
Josie Posted August 5, 2019 Author Posted August 5, 2019 And is the inside of the cup drawn in or do I use an ellipse to do it?
Alfred Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Since this one is a line drawing with solid fills, it’s much simpler than the cat in a doughnut. You just need a cat, a ‘front of cup’ shape on top, a handle on one side and two small shapes for the inside of the cup. No masking required! Edit: You could put an ellipse behind the cat if you find that easier than drawing a separate shape on either side. Maybe a moderator will move the thread. Anyway, the principle is the same, even though the Layers panel looks a bit different than the Layers Studio in the iPad version (and yours won’t be in German, of course).
