I just converted (mostly copy/paste) a document from InDesign to Publisher, gave it a polish and ran into the following issue:

When using optical alignment, a leading tabulator is ignored. 

This looks like a bug to me. At least, it is unexpected.

I'm using Publisher 1.7.2 Beta 442 on an older MacBook Pro with OS X 10.11.6
