walt.farrell
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but as far as I know, the vertical alignment of text is not controlled by paragraph styles. It's controlled by that button in the Context Toolbar, or by the corresponding settings in either the Text Frame studio panel or the Table studio panel. As you seem to be dealing with tables, I would suggest View > Studio > Table as the most appropriate spot to set that option. Edit: Or, see my post in your other topic for an additional suggestion, using Table Formats. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
lacerto
As Walt mentioned, vertical alignment is not controlled by a paragraph style The default vertical alignment in table cells seems to be Top but you can edit the Default Table format (in Table Formats Studio panel) so that the default vertical formatting for cells becomes e.g. Middle, and then you override this by specifying vertical alignment option for selected cells either from the toolbar, Table panel, or Text frame panel. . walt.farrell
