Windows 10 Affinity Photo version 1.6.5.123, "New version available" Download version 1.7.1

Recommended Posts

Like I usually do, launch use or download the new version, mostly I have not had any problems until now, Attached you will find three image files named: "1-Affinity Photo Update Error after trying to install it" and "2-Affinity photo  Error after I attempted to send in crash report", "My Windows version"

I can use the current version 1.6.5.123 with no problems, its when after I successfully downloaded the newer version 1.7.1 that I got the first error as you can see in the file name starting with "1-Affinity" I then get the next error in the file name begging with "2-Affinity"

I searched this forum for anyone else that may have reported this or a similar error, I did not find any if I missed it please send to me, or if this is new and you have a fix or workaround etcetera?

Please follow up via email or a new update, I will check back months from now or as my time permits.

Thanks in advance /Joe

P.S. I will be launching Affinity Designer and most likely there will be an update as well, hopefully, I do not get the same results as I did with Affinity Photo?

That crash when closing down is a Microsoft/.NET bug introduced in the recently released .Net Framework 4.8 and only happens with a specific set of circumstances. (Multiple DPI monitors and Net 4.8). Apparently, a fix has already been merged in for the next .Net 4.8 patch.
