joecools
Like I usually do, launch use or download the new version, mostly I have not had any problems until now, Attached you will find three image files named: "1-Affinity Photo Update Error after trying to install it" and "2-Affinity photo Error after I attempted to send in crash report", "My Windows version" I can use the current version 1.6.5.123 with no problems, its when after I successfully downloaded the newer version 1.7.1 that I got the first error as you can see in the file name starting with "1-Affinity" I then get the next error in the file name begging with "2-Affinity" I searched this forum for anyone else that may have reported this or a similar error, I did not find any if I missed it please send to me, or if this is new and you have a fix or workaround etcetera? Please follow up via email or a new update, I will check back months from now or as my time permits. Thanks in advance /Joe P.S. I will be launching Affinity Designer and most likely there will be an update as well, hopefully, I do not get the same results as I did with Affinity Photo? Claudio60
Your issue is different from mine but I suspect there is something in common, take a look at my post:
Staff Gabe Posted August 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 9, 2019 Hi both. Sorry for the delayed reply. Can you please try to install the latest beta and see if that's any better? https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/34-photo-beta-on-windows/ Thanks, Gabe. Claudio60
Hi Gabe, with version 1.7 (both beta and stable) I don't have this isuue but at the moment I prefer to stay with 1.6.5.135, as I explained in this post:
Staff Gabe Posted August 13, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 13, 2019 That crash when closing down is a Microsoft/.NET bug introduced in the recently released .Net Framework 4.8 and only happens with a specific set of circumstances. (Multiple DPI monitors and Net 4.8). Apparently, a fix has already been merged in for the next .Net 4.8 patch. Claudio60
