Peter Waller Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 I use Affinity Publisher for a monthly newsletter. There was an article in a textbox with a picture. For the next month I wish to use the same space and deleted the picture and then the text and text frame. Using this space with a new text box, the text then formats around the deleted picture. No matter what I do, even deleting and rewriting the article, this mysterious picture is still there. Quote

With your new Text frame layer highlighted, go to View>Studio>Text Frame and be sure that is checked. Then in the Text Frame panel, be sure that Ignore Text Wraps is checked. (My example below is not checked because I use Text Wrap a great deal.) The second thing is to click on the Text Wrap icon up on your Toolbar, and click on the Wrap Style None icon in the Text Wrap panel. You probably have already tried a third option, but I thought I might include it anyway. Perhaps if you would keep the article with the textbox and picture, and go first to the Text Wrap>Wrap Style None steps, you might find that you could then drag that picture out of the text frame and have a text block with unwrapped text. At that point, you could delete the text in the box and start over with your new material. Wosven Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Perhaps its a but with the frames or the page. Did you tried copying the content of this page on a new one to check if this keep on happening? (it's the settings of one of those frames). Or to delete frames from this page until you find the culprit (one of them is bugged) or until there's none and create a new text frame to check if this happen on this empty page? (> The page is bugged) Quote
Peter Waller Posted August 3, 2019 Author Posted August 3, 2019 Many thanks to jmwellborn, the information given appears to have done the trick. Nice to receive such a speedy response, thank you. jmwellborn 1 Quote
jmwellborn Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 @Peter Waller I am so glad it worked and that you are up and running. Needless to say, when you want to insert new images into new text and then wrap the text around them, you have to uncheck Ignore Text Wraps. Have a lovely weekend!
