Designer on iPad crashes every time I attempt to open or save a specific document. My other, smaller, documents open fine but this specific document has become unusable.

Details:
Device: iPad Pro 9.7” (2017)
Designer Version: 1.7.1.1

Hi @Kpelfrey,

Try this please.

Tap-hold on that project until it "pops out" slightly. Drag it as if you were to re-arrange it, then swipe up from the bottom with another finger, open Files and drop it somewhere on your files. See if that works.

Thanks,

Gabe.

If you need that file, try this:

Download iMazing (free app for Mac), connect your iPad to your Mac to make a backup of the iPad, and then looked through the backup , inside the Affinity Photo folder > Library > Application Support > com.seriflabs.affinityphoto.ios > Autosave , and look for an autosave of that file. Once the file is exported, it can be renamed to .afphoto and it should work.

@GabrielM

I was able to recover my file using the method you described.

However, now whenever I try to add a pixel paint brush stroke the app crashes. The same doesn’t appear to be true when adding a vector paint brush stroke. Do you have any advise for what might be causing this?

Another screen recording on this new recovered file would be really helpful as mine does not crash when adding pixel layers/brushes.

Hi Kpelfrey,

Thanks very much for the file. We've been able to reproduce the crashing - it seems to affect 2GB Ram model iPads, which would explain why the 12.9" iPad Pro model is working! I've passed this on to development
