sw-music Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Dear Affinity, I have been using Affinity Photo and Designer for some time, but the last version I've been able to install was 1.6.5.135. I have purchased Affinity Publisher, but I can't get that to install at all. I'm a self-employed piano teacher, and I need my photo editor software(!) so I haven't had time (or the nerves) to muck around with it until now (end of Financial Year, end of term, exams for students etc). I followed the guide here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/64511-windows-installation-issues-faq/ and uninstalled the current versions... I ran the Microsoft software prescribed... I tried installing as administrator... But no luck - none of the three programs would install. All of them just quickly quit and said "Setup Failed" So now... now photo editor! (drats!) Please please please advise! I've attached the install logs for publisher... Could it be fonts? I have a few... how can I check? Or something else? I'd really like to be able to use your lovely software! Thanks! Setup.log SetupUI.log Quote
Staff stokerg Posted July 30, 2019 Staff Posted July 30, 2019 Hi sw-music, Thanks for uploading the log files. The main error is: Error: The system cannot open the device or file specified. I've seen this error before when a user had used an app to change the location of the Windows temp folder. Have you also done that? Quote
sw-music Posted August 2, 2019 Author Posted August 2, 2019 Yes! In fact I changed the temp location to a ram disk to prevent clutter on my ssd. Do i need to revert back to the usual temp file location? I run my browser etc out of the ram drive, so prefer if I didn't have to do this, but I can live with it to use Publisher (I've been waiting years to move from Calamus!) Looking forward with anticipation to response - thanks! Quote

If you can change it back and then run our installer, once Affinity has been installed, you can switch the temp folder back to using your ram drive Leigh 1 Quote
