Kiekooft
I tried to update my Affinity Photo version to the new 1.7.1.404 but only get a 'setup failed' screen. This is not the biggest problem: my 'old' version just vanished and I am now unable to run the program at all
walt.farrell
Try rebooting, and then rerun the update. If that still fails, right-click on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. stokerg and Kiekooft 2 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
Staff stokerg Posted July 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 30, 2019 Hi Kiekooft, If @walt.farrell advice doesn't work, can you follow the steps below and we can get some log files and help further: Can you check this location for me: %temp%/AffinitySetup To get to that location, call up the Run box by holding down the Windows key and tapping the letter R. Copy and paste the above path into the run box and click okay. That should open a folder, which should contain at least 1 other folder. If there are more than one, find the latest one and open the folder, you should see 2 log files, setup.log and setui.log if you can upload those here

Staff stokerg Posted August 1, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 1, 2019 @Kiekooft This is the main error: +Error: There is not enough disk space to install this file: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\1577a5.msi. Free some disk space and click Retry, or click Cancel to exit. So there isn't enough space to copy the installer msi into the needed Windows folder. The file i have in the same location for this is 253MB in size. So you'd really need to free some space on the C drive and then run our installer again
Kiekooft
Thanks, all of you and @Stokerg particularly. I now installed the old version of the software from scratch onto my (larger) e: drive (my 'system' drive is only a 128GB SSD drive that is virtually full). Ninstalled the new version over it.ext step was to update. The updater flawlessly found the setup and installed the 1.7.1 version over it. Me happy! stokerg
