Berg0
I have a small question regarding the install method used for Affinity Photo. I noticed it's available though the Microsoft store on Windows 10, and I'm considering a purchase soon. I'm wondering, however, if I would be able to later install the software though the download process on a different computer (still windows), but not through the Microsoft store. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any information.
Staff Dan C Posted July 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 30, 2019 Hi Berg0, Welcome to the forums When purchasing from the Microsoft Store, the purchase is linked to your Microsoft Account. This means if you want to install the app on another PC, you'll have to sign in to the Microsoft Store using your account details to download the app - unfortunately there's no way 'out' of using the Microsoft Store if you purchase the product there. I'd recommend buying directly from the Affinity Store if you want to install the app on another computer without using the Microsoft Store - I hope this helps! The Affinity Store version can be installed on Windows 10, 8.1 or 7 SP1. walt.farrell
And it's worth noting that if you want to use Affiniy Photo as an external photo editor for some other application, it will be much easier to do that if you have purchased directly from Serif. Microsoft hides applications that you install via the Windows Store, which makes using them from other applications more difficult.
