I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to accomplish something I haven't done before.

I have a photo of a kitten.  I have a photo of that same kitten now 15 years old!   I thought it might be interesting to take the photo of my 15 year old cat and add a portion of his kitten photo and combine them together.  Maybe crop the head of his kitten years looking down at his older version.  I know I can load up both pictures in Affinity Photo, but not sure how I could "cut" out what I need from the younger picture and add it to the older one.

I would appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction to begin the process.  Even a video,  if it exist, would be helpful.

Thanks for any help you could provide.
