reconrad45 Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 How do I set the ruler measurement to just keep the standard increment points? After setting it to inches, and zooming in, there are no longer 16 increments but many more... I'd rather have a standard inches ruler that doesn't change when zooming in, but rather sticks with the 16 increments and with 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 having a slight larger line depiction. Any idea? Extreme noob.
Dan C Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Hi reconrad45, Welcome to the forums Unfortunately there's no way to set this manually in Affinity apps. Our rulers are dynamic, meaning the further you zoom in, the more 'points' are shown on the ruler - my apologies for any inconveniences this causes. thomaso 1
reconrad45 Posted August 1, 2019 Author Posted August 1, 2019 Hi Dan C, then perhaps I can get two options on the bucket list.. first option would be to have a "Show decimals" for the ruler option or a "Show Fraction" see attached. The second option that I would like to see added is a "repeat last action"... if I set a guide at .313, I'd like to have the program automatically set the guide at the next .313 interval from the last one via keyboard shortcut, as well as setting the number of guides.. I literally had to manually set guides, one by one, adding decimals to find the next interval on the infinity points on the ruler was a nightmare. In the guides manager there should be an option to add a set number of guides at specified intervals. Thanks

I doubt that the modern + positive sounding term "dynamic" really fits the occurring issues. When working with this dynamism an impression of "chaotic" might pop up at some zoom values. As a compromise the rulers could be named "flexible" and express that way their kind of "elastic rubber ruler" – nice if one wants to loose weight but not for layouts. • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.6.2 | Affinity V2.6.3
