Create a tiled bitmap fill in Affinity Designer

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to create a repeating tiled background for a project. I couldn't find a way of filling in the background so I created a new shape large enough to cover the whole board, then tried doing a bitmap fill using the Fill tool. But it just stretches the PNG file to fill the shape. This obviously looks terrible. I could not find a way of tiling it so that the pattern repeats. What am I missing? Is there another setting I need to find?

Make sure you set "Extend" to "Wrap". Click the "maintain fill aspect ratio" button and then adjust the handles to get the scale you want.
