Hello

I liked to have basecaps printed with a white logo. My printer has the following requirements for the print file:

- Data as vectors (paths)
- in a solid colour channel White (overprinted)
- File format pdf or png

I just can't get it. Maybe someone can help here.

Best regards

Peter

Hi Pommernschaf and Welcome to the Forums,

Everything looks fine to me in that file. You can remove the layer effects you've applied, as they are not needed.  If you export it out (File>Export) and set the preset on the export window to PDF/X1A that should be fine for the printer.

If not, we'd really need to know what the printer is finding wrong with the file in order to help further :)

When I export your .afpub as PDF/X-1a then it results in a file with no printing color at all: every channel has 0 % ink.

To get an extra channel "White" you need to define your color as spot color:

That way you get 100% ink of your spot color:

It does not depend on this color whether it becomes overprinted. – Or do you mean overprinting? If you define a color as overprinting then it will not knock-out any color printed underneath but gets printed on them, additionally. Depending on the used inks (offset or silk?) you might get a sort of transparency in the White, – whereas it remains pure White if it is NOT defined as overprinting. You need to make your choice in the moment you define the color, unfortunately you can not edit this property afterwards (same for Spot property).

Hello,

first of all, thank you for your feedback and tips.

The print shop sends me the following error message.

---

Our premium data check has resulted in the following results:

>> Errors that cannot be corrected by us:1. Customer request cannot be implemented: The processing request cannot be met.
We need the data as vectors (paths) in a solid color channel white

Unfortunately no more.
