avo
Hi all, my name is Gregory and i'm a designer and illustrator (and a some other -er and -or :). I really like AD a lot, i'm using it for all my stuff from web design to doodling, so i'd like to share this small image i did back in May — its a kind of character, i doodle them a lot. So i decided to vectorize this one. Have a nice day everyone! eejits
Looks really cool. Great colour choices and has a very 'ratty' look. Cool stuff.... peter
Hi Gregory. There's a lot of Hindiusm in this picture, what is your source of inspiration? Is it religious art or is it more travelling? I could see this picture on the back of a tuk-tuk and expect it to have been there forever. Either way you've got a style that sits quite easily between India and what was once called Indo-China. What is that font? What does it say? Well done. avo 1 Quote MacBook pro, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, OS X 10.11.6 http://www.pinterest.com/peter2111
avo
Peter, i'm not sure about Hinduism, but i'm really impressed by culture of my own country - Russia, so this rat is mostly about old Russian popular style called "Lubok" - this is where i actually got an inspiration... I'm doing some more complicated illustrations in this style, also i'm learning a lot about Russian traditional toys and ornaments. An Affinity Designer makes this process much more pleasureful ) As to font, its a variant of Russian traditional monumental script, called Viaz'. It appeared a lot on the stone walls of palaces and cathedrals... Here it says "Belial", as this rat has something demonic in its look, as it seems to me. avo
Nicely done, i like your style. Glad you do! ) This is what I had in mind. The modern and the traditional... There are similarities, after all ancient Indians are said to be ancestors of european and east-european tribes Quote Follow me on Dribbble https://dribbble.com/g-avoyan
