Translation "overflow" in Stroke/Kontur properties field german/deutsch

Recommended Posts

Version: 1.7.1.408

The translation for "Mitre" in german "Gehrung" has not enough space because of the translation of "Align" the buttons walk to the right and you are not able to click the most far right button of Join/Ecke - it is overwritten with "Gehrung" as you can see in the screenshots.

This bug is in the latest beta version 1.7.2.422 also present/not fixed.

There is also the problem that the panels are different widths, the English "Mitre" would not fit in the German panel either. Look at the top where the stroke styles are and you can see that the English panel is wider.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Clearly the translation problem is not unique to Serif. What's the solution?

In case of "Mitre" and "Gehrung" the solution is quite simple: Just place the text above its field instead of besides it (as it has been used for a former version):

Is it possible to create custom layouts for panels in foreign language versions of the software?

Adapted label text style is used already in AfPubs stroke panel for the word "Reihenfolge", which is smaller + some way compressed (bit too much, actually:)

The issue "German UI - Stroke flyout - text overlapping icons" (REF: AFP-2551) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1857".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
