Affinity Designer - eps-files strangely cut or split

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I sometimes use vecteezy, a portal for vectorfiles.
It's strange, so many background-files seem to be corrupt, they show cuts between every part of the file.

If you export it, the lines between the parts still stay.

Maybe somebody knows how to fix this?

Is this because of compatibility issues, or just the corrupted file?

Thanks.

Best regards

Chris

Hi VUTURE :)

This is likely due to the .eps file itself, many stock sites serve up '.eps' files which are actually .ai files in an 'eps wrapper'. This means that when importing these files into Affinity objects can be lost or rasterised unexpectedly due to the way the file is saved from Illustrator.

Unfortunately as the .ai  file type is proprietary we can't read any information from it, meaning the imported eps usually has missing data - hidden where Affinity can't access it.

I hope this makes sense, apologies I can't offer a better solution here!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
