Hi Martin Karius,

Welcome to the forums :)

The document type when creating a document are simply titles for preset groups, these do not change the document in any way, simply set a predetermined range of settings for the document, all of which can be changed at a later date.

Provided your document has the correct properties (ie size, DPI, colour space etc) then the type of document set when creating the document will not affect your document in any way.

Having said that, you should always see the same name type after creating the document, it shouldn't change after document creation.

Could you please confirm the following:

What Affinity App are you using?
Which OS? (Windows or Mac?)
Are you using a Web preset when creating a new document? If so, which one?
Does this happen every time you create a document? If you use a different type/preset does the type name change after creating the document?

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

  • 3 months later...

Been getting this in Affinity Designer from the get go (1.7.0). Mac OS X.

Although you can still set all the other aspects of the document correctly, if you choose a Web Document and SAVE it, when you re-open the same document it should still be a Web Document not have returned to the default of Print.

Happens all of time for me.
