Hey guys, so I have made the switch from Photoshop (Which I have been using for years) to Affinity Designer. I have read and view a lost of videos and articles but just can't seem to figure out the small stuff. Like when I import a psd file for a flyer I created I can't seem to locate any of my tools, layers, brushes, etc it's just one big black board.  This might be something so silly but I honestly can't figure it out. Please help! Thinking of getting photo and publisher after this. Thanks

To begin with, Affinity Photo is much more like Photoshop than Affinity Designer. Designer is oriented toward vector design work, so it lacks many of the features used to work on raster image files. Likewise, Affinity Photo is oriented toward raster image work & lacks many of the vector features of Designer.

So you probably would find it easier to learn how to use Affinity Photo than Designer.

It sounds as though you have your UI hidden, to show this you can use View>Toggle UI or alternatively the TAB key as a shortcut!

If you wish to tryout Photo alongside Designer you can find a link to our free 10 day trial below!
