Create your mask in Designer and then edit in Affinity Photo, (File- Edit in Photo) there invert the mask with the shortcut CTRL + I and go back to designer. Did you tried from the Pixel Persona, via selecting only the mask and performing "Layer > New Adjustment > Invert" ?
