I have tried to retrieve images from Unsplash through the Stock panel in Publisher several times and repeatedly get the message "Connection Failed." I can however use the link to go to the website.

This problem also exists in Affinity Photo.

Is there a fix for this?

Unsplash has undoubtedly better images and a larger selection. While downloading from their website is not such a big problem, it does complicate the workflow and I believe solving that was the point of including the Stock panel feature.

I think your firewall blocks the access to the stock libraries. Maybe there is a setting in your firewall software that allows access. Had this problem before on Win 8.1, switched now to Windows 10(it works) and I don't know if the IT of where I work changed the firewall rules.

Same here. Unsplash fails (the two other choices work.) I don't even get an error, but maybe I'm not patient enough for the error to pop up? It's just stuck there and I also get to deal with a broken floating scrollbar in the middle (screenshot #1) when attempting to use Unsplash. The broken scrollbar even remains when I switch to one of the other services (screenshot #2).

Not the firewall, not going to change to Win 10.

Thanks anyway.

If you're on Windows 7, it may be the issue that by default Win 7 doesn't have TLS 1.2 enabled, and Unsplash doesn't support the older, weaker, SSL/TLS protocols.

I think there's at least one topic about Unsplash on the Affinity forums that also discusses that.

Or you might look at this Microsoft Support article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-secure-protocols-in-wi

Thanks Walt!

That did the trick; Unsplash works just fine now. Good thing I am no stranger to registry hacks. The article, written in the arcane Microsoftese, is about as clear as mayonnaise.

Actually, I had seen this fix referred to on another thread earlier the same day and was about to give it a try when you beat me to the punch.

Your help is always appreciated!
