Shape not closing properly with pen tool (I'm new to all of this!)

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I am brand new to affinity designer/ illustrator and all of that sort of thing. I am playing around with the pen tool since I had always had a hard time with it in the past, but I finally decided to try to learn it. I was tracing my thumb and for some odd reason, when I went to close this shape and then fill it, it is not filling clean and nicely. I am not sure what is causing this and I need help understanding. Thank you for the time you take to read this and help me gain more knowledge and understand.

See below the file I am currently working on and a screen capture of the problem area as well. Thank y'all!

Would be simpler to just redraw the curve around the thumb but if you wanted to join all those closed curves you would need to do a bit of work.
