scsolutions Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I'm totally new to this software so I apologize if there's an easy answer to this question. I've created a file that is a combination of text and one png image. I'm trying to convert it to EPS format. In the AF design format, the PNG image maintains it's transparency (see 1st image). After converting to EPS, it loses the transparency and just comes through as a box (see 2nd image). I apologize if it's difficult to see - it's white design printing on black background. I'm sure it's something easy I'm overlooking, but I'd be incredibly grateful if anyone could help. Quote

mac_heibu Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 It is simple: EPS doesn‘t support transparency. Use PDF instead. Quote
scsolutions Posted July 21, 2019 Author Posted July 21, 2019 Thank you! So, there's no way to create a vector file, then? I'm trying to print the logo for large trade show materials and it's recommending EPS, AI, or CDI format. Quote
v_kyr Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 PDF is a vector-based page description language that allows the display to be freely scaled. - Postscript and EPS are older predecessor formats of what has been incorporated into PDF. Fixx Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 You could also try vectorising the PNG using appropriate software and use that in your EPS. Quote
