Hi Daniel Blank,

Welcome to the forums :)

Are you referring to your documents default units? This can be set whilst creating a document, if you wish to always use the same settings this can be saved as a preset and loaded each time you create a new document!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

When working with multiple documents and having to change picas to inches constantly is enough to drive anyone nuts.

An easier access to a document's unit is to right-click in its rulers crosspoint in the upper left corner. It will affect only this document.
From the pop-up menu choose a unit.

Why have to reset units with every document? Sometimes processing dozens of photos at one sitting. This program desperately needs a default for unit type so if processing raw and exporting to jpeg, for example, with dozens of photos, unit is always the same. For most U.S. photographers, inches should be the default, not pixels.

A great feature of Photoshop that should also be incorporated in the cropping tool, is being able to set it and forget it by size and dpi. What a time and click saver that is when processing a hundred photos.

What makes you think you have to reset every time? There are ready-made presets + the option for custom presets, too. In my AfPhoto all ready-made presets for photos are set with unit inch (though I would prefer px, or at least mm as being in Europe). What does NOT work for you?
