Repeated crashes when cropping image

Recommended Posts

I opened a bunch of PNG files, all simple, small.  Planned to crop, export, close, each in turn.

First one, no problem. Second one: as soon as I applied the crop Photo crashed.  Mac OS offered to reopen Photo, I accepted.  [New] first file, no problem, second, crash as before.  This pattern repeated until I'd managed to complete my overall task.

I don't know what's going on, but this seems to me very similar to the crashes experienced when resizing canvas, reported recently.

Hey Dampsquid,

I logged an issue a while ago where I was getting a crash using the Crop Tool but it involved using Straighten, Rotate and clicking Daren etc. on the context toolbar. Do you do any of this? I'll add your crash logs to the bug report.

To attach the actual .png files to the forum I believe you must first zip them and then attach that (as it stands now those are pngs of pngs).

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hey Dampsquid,

Sorry, I was referring to the stock images in the Stock Panel.

I've tried with the images you attached but it isn't crashing although I do appreciate it wasn't on every attempt. Because you attached so many crash reports I assumed it was a common occurrence for you.

For what it is worth, we are recommending that our customers use the beta over the store version due to the amount of fixes and improvements it has had since the official 1.7 release. I would use that for now and attach any new crash reports with the Crop Tool so we can compare:
