Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

I'm assuming you are using Affinity Photo which is the only app that supports macros.

You can record Macros in the Macro panel (menu View > Studio > Macro). From here you can save the macro to the Library (clicking the second icon on the top right group) or export it as a .afmacro file (notice there's no S at the end of the file extension) clicking the third icon on the top right group. The Macro panel deals with the steps of a single macro only (thus the .afmacro - without S - extension.

The Library (menu View > Studio > Library is where you store you macros. You can also export (and import) each category  from there as an .afmacros file (notice the S at the end of the file extension). The Library panel deals with  .afmacros files (notice the S in the extension) which may contain a single or a group of macros (depending on how much macros were inside each category when exported - it may contain.just one)
